The TALENT SHOW AND DINNER is this Friday, March 24. Enjoy Mimmo's Baked Ziti With Meat Sauce, or choose the Creamy Bowtie Alfredo with no meat. The meal also includes breadstick, salad, drink, and dessert. Dinner will be served from 6 PM-7 PM with Live Music. The TALENT SHOW will immediately follow the Meal. Today is SAT testing for 11th grade students- please try to arrive at the school in the Ag/Vocational wing by 8 am, so we can get testing started as soon as possible. Remember, do not bring phones or any other electronic device into testing rooms, including earbuds. Good luck today!

Tomorrow, Wednesday March 22nd is SAT testing for our 11th grade students- This is a reminder to make sure you get a good night sleep and eat something for breakfast before coming to school tomorrow. 11th grade students will need to try to be at school and report to the ag/vocational wing by 8 am in the morning so that testing can begin in a timely manner. Students will also not be allowing to have phones or any electronic device in the testing rooms. See you tomorrow morning.

Seniors- There are 3 scholarships due tomorrow, Gallatin/Saline Retired teachers scholarship, Illinois Sheriff's Association Scholarship and the Ferrell Hospital Scholarship. If students can turn in applications to Mr. Cruson by 11am tomorrow (Wednesday 15th), he will make sure they get to the appropriate locations. Anything after 11am, students will need to get apps to locations on their own. Contact Mr. Cruson if you have questions

Just a reminder that a few scholarships have deadlines approaching next week: Gallatin/Saline Retired Teachers Scholarship 3/15 Illinois Sheriff's Scholarship 3/15 Ferrell Hospital Scholarship 3/15 All are due next Wednesday- if students can get the Sheriff's and Ferrell Hospital scholarships to Mr. Cruson by 11am on the 15th- He will make sure they get to the appropriate locations. Gallatin/Saline Teachers scholarship must be in Mr. Cruson's office by Tuesday the 14th to be postmarked by the 15th

There has been a lot going on in Beginning Foods class the last few weeks! This week the students competed in burger wars. Each group received a pound of hamburger to make "designer" burgers. The students really took to this challenge and all the burgers were great! Shout out to Bryce Brazier for donating the burger.

Congratulations to Bailee Brown and Darrin Newton for being approved to earn their State FFA Degree at the FFA State Convention this June. They are the first to earn their State Degree from Gallatin County since 2016! We are so proud of them.

Displaced Energy Worker Dependent Transition Scholarship Program The IL Student Assistance Commission has launched the Displaced Energy Worker Dependent Transition Scholarship Program (Website info page). This scholarship was created by the 2021 Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) and provides scholarship assistance to dependents of eligible displaced energy workers (workers laid off from a retiring power plant or a closing coal mine after Sept 15th 2016). The scholarship pays tuition and fee costs at public colleges or community colleges for one calendar year, for undergraduate or graduate study. The 2022-23 application, for awards to cover the entire 2022-23 academic year, must be submitted on or before June 15, 2023. .
